| FEATURE ITEM: THE PAPUA NEW GUINEAN BILUM In 2007 I was introduced to Wendy Wipira who is a native of and resides in Papua New Guinea (click the link to find out more about Papua New Guinea). Wendy is the Founder of PNG Women's Handicraft & Cottage Association (WHCA). WHCA is a women’s group specifically trying to help our sisters and our mothers in PNG to become productive citizens of the country. It is objectively working to provide a conducive environment for income-earning opportunities for PNG women so that they can use their natural talents and abilities to produce the finest collection of traditional handicrafts and wears that can be highly demanded by the overseas market.
